Region: Similarities of Places
A region is defined as an area that has unifying characteristics. There are two types of regions: Physical and Cultural.
Physical Region:Physical regions include similar land forms, climate, soil, and natural vegetation. For example, the peaks and valleys of the Rocky Mountains form a physical region. The same physical feature exists over multiple land areas.

Cultural Region:Cultural regions include similar economic, social, political, and cultural characteristics. The different cultural areas of the Pacific are a cultural region because each region shares similar cultural traditions, dance, and food diet.
